Machbarschaft Petershof KölnOn New Year’s Eve 2021/2022, the house of the Cologne syndicate project in Lessingstraße (Ehrenfeld) was smeared with Nazi symbols. Together with the residents of Lessingstraße, we are angry and dismayed by this attack, which shows us how real the threat to left solidarity projects by right-wing groups is.
We stand behind DreiLessiDrei and all those who are affected by or oppose right-wing violence.
The City of Cologne has decided in our favour! After we submitted our concept at the end of July and were allowed to present it at the beginning of November as one of three applicants, the property committee of the city of Cologne decided to award us the contract in its meeting on 22 November. This decision was confirmed by the council in its last meeting of the year on 14 December: The project group Machbarschaft Petershof is to manage Petershof for 99 years at a ground rent of 1.5%. WOW! This is a clear sign from the city for affordable housing, for art & culture and for the mobility turnaround.
So you won’t get rid of us. In the upcoming weeks, we will report regularly about our activities. In the meantime we are also on Facebook and on Instagram. You help us by telling your friends and family about us, by reaching out to us with your concerns as well as your feedback, and by continuing to give us so much good energy for the future.
We made it – we are invited to the second round of the concept awarding procedure!
On November 4 at 5 p.m. we will have the opportunity to present our concept to the representatives of the real estate committee of the City of Cologne. We are looking forward to explain to the decision makers why and how we will implement our social and ecologically sustainable project in the buildings of the Petershof.

Our concept stands! We submitted it last Friday (july 30, 2021) to the Real Estate Office of the City of Cologne.

Today, Tuesday, July 20, 2021, the Kölner Stadtanzeiger (KStA) reports about our project group and the participation day on July 11, where we presented ourselves in Cologne-Müngersdorf with our ideas & plans for the Petershof.
Even we didn’t expected such a big turnout! More than 100 people followed our call on Sunday to meet on the Müngersdorf village square and think together about the future of the Petershof. Mostly big and small Müngersdorf residents were there, but also a lot of housing project enthusiasts and people who want to use the socio-cultural part of the Petershof. This has once again made it clear to us: Together we can do it!

On July 11, 2021, starting at 2 p.m., we cordially invite you and all of you to join us for a participatory day on the village square in Müngersdorf. We want to present our ideas in Müngersdorf, get into conversation and spend a nice afternoon together. Tom and Freda will provide musical entertainment.

On June 26, 2021, we were able to present ourselves and our ideas at the 7th Cologne Housing Project Day of the Haus der Architektur. There we met great other projects, talked to representatives from the city and administration and found new comrades-in-arms.
We submitted our concept and financial plan to the City of Cologne at the end of July. In perspective, we still need financial support in the form of direct loans, which count as equity. We would be pleased if you would pledge us a direct loan.
